Rutilated Quartz

By BarbaraR
Hi all,
This is a special crystal in my collection.
Rutilated quartz.
'Rutile' derives from the the Latin rutilus, red, which the
fine hair like inclusions often are.
However, in quartz, the rutile enclosures are sometimes also
present in brown and greyish hues.
They are made of a form of Titanium I believe.
No two stones will ever be alike.
There is such a high degree of light refraction it was hard
to achieve a clear photo !
Very grateful for all the C&C's on my last rock entry.

Not easy to capture this type of subject as the angles give the light chance to reflect directy into the lens, so done a good job here
