Nice bit of experimenting Sue, I like the texturised sky and think it works well with the subject matter.

Hi Sue, interesting experimentation on the sky texture, overall, I have these observations:
1. the overall blend nature of the photo with limited contrast can be a matter of taste or moment of capture;
2. the edges of the trees seemed that on the day it was shot, there was very heavy wind but your camera speed of 1/100 seconds should be able to capture the branches movemnent;
3. I used to own the Pentax KX and KR (12 mega pixels) rather limited to the amount of details that can be captured but sufficient for buildings but not for landscape;
4, I have done 2 mods. one to smoothen the sky textures to give a move dramatic cloud covering and a sepia version using the SIM Filters.
Hope you like them.
Best wishes, ee. Smile

It can look better with some more contrast and a small amount of sharpening.

Ive uploaded a mod with this done, added space at the top and a border.

The texture works well.
