Sad Saddhu

By lillypix
Varanasi, 2008.

The locals claimed he was 200 years old or more, and had come to Varanasi to wait to die. I believe the waiting to die bit...

Thank you for all the comments and votes and especially the user award Smile

I liked this old guy, especially, because all he wanted in return for us taking a couple of photos was a cup of tea, and his cups of tea were all provided free of charge by the local tea vendor anyway (see previous upload - Chai man of Varanasi) who refused any payment from us even though we happily offered. The locals of the area were so in awe of this saddhu they felt it their religious duty to sustain him, ply him with tea and keep him warm and confortable.
