Newcastle upon Tyne from the western entrance to the Sage, Gateshead. The Church is All Saints, used largely for concerts but recently re-consecrated.
This is a classic high contrast black 'n white image. A well thought through composition.
Well composed low-key B&W photo. Highly impressive and dramatic shot, Bill.
Know it well Bill good shot well composed works so well in B/w.
very dramatic..although the bg is important to the frame it isn't overbearing
Excellent composition and mono conversion Bill.
Very well thought-out and presented - this high-contrast mono is such a powerful look.
Well worked comp and mono conversion Bill
Lots of strong diagonals, Bill, makes an excellent compositional framework. The high contrast emphasises these diagonals and there's a wonderful old building sandwiched between the new.
Striking mono...love the comp with the unusual framing.
A well chosen viewpoint Bill, excellent composition and tip top processing. A change from the Normal Sage view...A wise old sage told me.
I like the darkness at the top which seems to hold it all down and anchor the image. Although looking at the shadows I suspect it was a bright day.
I almost posted a monochrome image this morning Bill, it would have looked poor by comparison.
Love the gritty B&W rawness of this.
Very masculine gender image, Bill! And yes, Mick need some overtimes, I have a looooong Santa's list....................!!
Some images are just made for mono and this certainly is. - gary
Some fine angles and tones in this. The framing of the distant buildings is genius.

...............or perhaps sitting on his laps will do the job NICELY!!
Very impressive, love the comp and the high contrast. After all you couldn't do justice to Gateshead and Newcastle with something wussy and close-toned, could you?
Great piece of work Bill, very well processed and excellent Mono.
I love the composition and the gritty conversion.
A graphic image with these lines Bill !!
Good contrasty mono upload.
Super image in B&W hope you've stopped rolling around the floor laughing re well you know what ha ha.
A superb quality mono shot, Bill, and a very well seen viewpoint, like it a lot
great processing and composition, Bill.
the reflection on the glass facade throws an extra light to the scene, generating those indirect shadows leading to the old church.
Like the way you have pushed the contrast Bill.
Very well balanced play on the use of lines light and tones, highly suited to mono, well presented, like it, regards Leon.
Impressive composition Bill.
Works well in mono.
A very striking composition. Mono is the perfe t choice.
A terrific composition Bill, it was an inspired choice to convert it to mono as it has added grit, drama and atmosphere
