Sailing on them Chesapeake #5

By handlerstudio
As I was preparing to grill, the storm clouds were gathering. And, the compass direction of the Corsica River at sunset (not quite yet in this photo) is often perfect to catch the setting sun. It did rain that night...and on a sailboat, one can keep the companionway open, if you have a dodger, since they alway swing away from the wind.

More or less the same image, in color and mono, both somewhat enhanced with the Olympus filters.

Cracking image

You have an obvious love of sailing I on the other hand have a great fear I think itís the complete lack of brakes thatís the problem plus a very nasty experience on the Norfolk Broads, not to be repeated.

Makes the shot more appealing to me, knowing it was taken from a sail-boat; no idea why, lol. Smile

I have had some of those experiences under sail also, Carole. I call them "what the ----am I doing here?" moments.

The foreboding dark low clouds are very well photographed in both images, Peter.

A rather angry looking sky. Great capture well executed.

Looks as if something nasty is heading your way Peter.

You certainly had that part of the bay all to yourself Peter. Like and both somewhat fear the sense of isolation you hav captured in the impending storm.

Sailing later in September on a weekend where the forecast was one day of rain kind of kept down the number of boats out that weekend. And, we were fairly far up the Corsica, looking for a somewhat protected anchorage, but not one that would get us close to land---and mosquitos.
