Saint Conan's Kirk

By Irishkate
This is a stunning building very close to Ben Cruachan Inn where we stayed last weekend.
It must be very hard to maintain churches like these all over the world these days yet this as so many others are very beautiful and nothing like them will ever be built again.
I was so delighted that so many of you liked Morning is Breaking - so a big thank you for all your votes, comments and awards.

P.S. Anybody know how to overcome description not recognising something new?

You made a wonderful image from inside the church Kate. The lighting and reflections on the stone slab floors are so good.

I would have expected the IS to do a better job of stabilisation at 1/6th, - thats only 2 stops, and it does look quite blurry. I wonder if it was turned off?

Re banehawi's comment - I used a tripod too!

Yes, maybe not as sharp as it could be, but what a very lovely church, worthy of it being shared with us, Kate 👍

You should always turn off stabilization if using a tripod.
Looks like a bad choice of focusing point too.
And it needs an anti-clockwise rotation.
But perhaps you were overcome by feelings of religious awe, and understandably lost concentration? Wink

I have admired this church from the outside but I have never had the light for a photograph. You have shown that it is also very beautiful inside. Despite minor technical issues the light here shows the interior really well. So well done Kate.

Very well framed and lighted interior, a wonderful architectural photo, Kate!
Many times it's not enough to use a tripod, a 2 sec delay or a remote switch or a remote controller is needed, to avoid the shake from the hand's touch on the camera.

Seems the shot was taken on a tripod, and perhaps IS should have been disabled.. something for the next time!
