Saltwell Towers

By woolybill1
At the hub of Saltwell Park in Gateshead, apparently one of the ten most popular parks in the UK, Saltwell Towers was built in 1862 by renowned stained glass manufacturer William Wailes. A mixture of Gothic, Elizabethan and French styles, it is now a visitor centre and tea room.
I have added a small amount of Gaussian blur to hint at the building's mid-Victorian beginnings, when lens technology was not quite so focused on sharpness as it it today.

Thanks to Graham for his distinguished User's Gong yesterday, and to everyone who voted, commented or just visited: all very much appreciated.

What an amazing building, from an era when style was revered, albeit somewhat different from today. Just the right processing for the age.

And there was me thinking that the nearest neighbours to Wooly Towers had added an extension to their property as the latest round in the one-upmanship-stakes.Wink

A fine old country pile Mr Bill. Very nicely snapped.

My word. Your country piles are very impressive. Mind you, they must be quite painful. You can get cream for it. My advice would be not to store it near the toothpaste. 🥴
I do like your use of Gaussian Blur. Samantha prefers Diffuse Glow Oasis. Keeps going on about Morning Glory. I really have no idea.
Yours Mrs Trellis of North Wales.
PS I like your picture. Well done.

Some lovely processing Bill and the architecture of the day, when you can't make your mind up, chuck a bit of everything at it!
