Sam The Sax Man

By Philo
First shot from a McFade Training "taster" session in an abandoned cinema. This is Sam, one of Ade's band mates. I thought the guys would just pose with their instruments but they played their hearts out all night. This was a real bonus given the great acoustics of the old building.
Lit by a single softbox at the top of the stairs to left of camera.
Thanks again to Ade and the musicians for a brilliant evening.

Looking good Phil - got a great pose and expression on him, and like the inclusion of those old lamp shades Smile

Thanks Willie, slight crop, white balance and a touch of contrast? One of your toned mono's would be nice and then you could tell me how you do itWink

Apart from a slight crop, I changed only the skin tone, and the sax colour tone. The slin was being coloured by they colour from the walls.

Loaded a duo tone.

I use CS5, - I think you dont use Photoshop if I remember right?

Anyway, mode>greyscale>answer yes to discard colour information>move>duotone>duotone dialogue box opens and presents a large number of toning presets. Try then to find one you like. This is a combination of black and a shade of brown.
