Samuel Beckett Bridge

By paulcr
I dont often get a chance to take a few shots around Dublin so while I was in town for a couple of hours today I naturally took the camera. This is Dublins newest bridge, The Samuel Beckett, which, I believe, swivels open to allow river traffic through. Situated on Sir John Rogersons quay.

LARGE OF COURSE Smile

All those angles pulling away from each other. Superb composition, tightly contained.

This is magnificent. Your selection of viewpoint and lens angle combine to suggest the view along the strings of a harp (an Irish one, of course), while the tilt-front building viewed through the 'harp' implies a drink being readied for action . . .

Thanks guys. The bridge is designed to resemble a harp alright but I'm not sure about the building Smile. Its a conference centre so your probably right Smile

VERY STRONG composition. Have you tried to straighten the building and see what perspective you get?

No. It would be an interesting experiment though. Not sure the architect would approve Smile
