Sanctuary Lamp

By jcolind
Lamp in St John's Church, Chester. This church dates from 1075 AD when the Normans built a Cathedral on the site of a 400 year old Saxon Minster. It became a co-cathedral when the see was moved to Coventry. Later, In 1541, following the dissolution of the monasteries the cathedral status was moved to to a former Benedictine Abbey where it stands to this day.
