Santorini Shadow

By Irishkate
Back to Santorini with another door image and a deep shadow.
I wondered if anybody knows what the little bag attached to the door
would be? I have a close up of it which I'll maybe add as a variant.
Many thanks for votes and comments for Muchish Mountain, Co. Donegal
and special thanks to Billy(williamsloan) for his precious User Award.
Have a good weekend.

Nice subject matter, Kate, and although the door itself seems to be in deep shadow, there is good detail captured.
No idea what the wee bag denotes......guess others will know.

Great capture of this beautiful green door, love the can through the handle as well. Perhaps the little bags contents are to ward off a volcanic eruption Wink ... Carol Grin

Lovely warmth and shadows, Kate. I would imagine that the bag is the remains of a bunch of wild flowers that would have been picked on 1st May, and hung on the door, a well known Greek tradition. In Greece, 1st May is known as 'protomagia', the celebration of Spring, hence the collecting of wild flowers. These hang on doors until 24th June. Carol

That's one lock that Mick's not going to like, no chance of rust on the bamboo cane!!

Seem to remember a popular song "Behind the Green Door" sung by Frankie Vaughan. Good colour, texture and shadow in this one Kate.
