The title of the photo is after a book by Mark Mills. There is nothing savage about the Italianate gardens at Renishaw Hall. However the book does make you try to understand what was in the garden designer's mind.
On a technical note, this photo showed up a flaw in my new Sigma 18-200 OS lens. The entire right side of the frame is out of focus. As it happens, I think it suits this particular shot. However it certainly did not suit many of the other frames where it occurred! I think it was due to a misalignment of one of the lens elements - not good. So back it went to the shop. To their great credit, Warehouse Express replaced the lens by express courier, without a quibble. The new one seems to be ok so far....
