Saving the Gondolier.....retro film rescue

By ken j.
Many years ago I shot almost exclusively on slide film - mainly Agfa CT18.
Last year I discovered that the many hundreds of slides I had stored were rapidly deteriorating and suffering from colour fading and mould and drastic action was needed to save the images.
A rescue mission was undertaken and I was able to digitalise many of the slides and enhance the image quality.
This is just one of the slides rescued - taken c1965 in Venice (obviously!)
My wife (then fiancee ) was convinced that this gondolier was Rock Hudson's younger brother.Grin

I started the same job to rescue slides, but it take a long time [as I have more than 20 000].

I used to buy Fuji or Agfa colour slide just (High days and Holidays only because of the costSad) to photographic the kids growing up, within the past few years I have digitised the lot for posterity, I have to say it became a labour of love, cleaning each one individually was tedious and brain numbing, also added music of the day to the mix, watching and listening to the Grandchildren's reactions in the company of the family made it all worthwhile.Wink

BTW I think it is Rock Hudson, he became a Gondolier after he was turned down for the lead in Roman Holiday.Wink
