Say cheese!

By TrevBatWCC
Had a wander down to Haworth's railway station, and came across this set of characters on the platform. Now, I often find that having a DSLR hung around your neck gives people the impression that you look like you know what you're doing with a camera, and whether it be here or on holiday abroad, have often been asked to take people's photos. One of these asked me if I minded taking a shot on a little compact they had, so willingly obliged, and was then asked to take another on a Smartphone. They were about to wander off, so I said 'Hang on a minute, I want a shot myself!'. I rather like it in colour, but included a mono version as V2, so you can takes your pick as to which you prefer Wink
The woman on the extreme right wasn't part of the group!

It works well, particularly the HDR.

Nice work on this - love the processing as usual, and though I like the mono best, the colour is very nice too.

Everyone is being a good sport except the lady in the back - she just wasn't having it, was she?

I go with the mono this time around Trev. The colours can look rather too modern sometimes but b/w is timeless.

Has to be V.2 for me, Trev, a very 'oldy-worldy' feel to it Smile Carol

An interesting scenario leading to your shot, Trev, and having switched back and forth between the two versions, I am still loathe to declare a favourite. Both have their special charms and attractiveness, although I suppose the mono version is more characteristic of the period being portrayed.

Colour for me Trev, the colours are slightly desaturated which complements the period. Asking to take photos using screens is awkward when you haven't got your reading glasses with you Sad

I prefer V1 for this shot Trev. A good happy looking crowd and that guy in the front (middle) looks like Jim Davidson. Moira

Two excellent images. Difficult to choose between the two. The mono I feel portrays the period better

If it wasn't for the Coke bottle on the left....V2 could be straight out of the forties! Nice work Trev.

I could go with either colour or mono - unusally not a fan of mono but have to admit oft times it works beautifully as in this case

Are those authentic 40s legs? Never mind a great pic! The BW looks good but I prefer your colour version.

I ike both but I'm greedy and would like to see a sepia toned one with an old fashioned photo edge. In fact I have done one, just to see whether it works, and to does. If you want to see it, message me with your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.

Like them both, Trev. This is just the sort of posed lineup that you would expect from that period. Perfect.
Didn't notice the Coke bottle until it was mentioned.
The lady on the right has to go!

A nice group portrait - only.... the coke and at least the digicam of that lady in the back should disappear. Tongue
V2 for me today - goes well with the theme.
