Scaly-breasted lorikeet

By JanetAS
"The scaly-breasted lorikeet (Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus) is an Australian lorikeet found in woodland in eastern Australia. The common name aptly describes this bird, which has yellow breast feathers broadly edged with green that look like scales." (Birdlife Australia)

This one (which could have been sharper) is feeding on the nectar of the Golden Penda flowers in the front garden.

Thanks very much for taking a look. (Best full view)

Beautiful and colourful image.
We have ring-necked parakeet in Holland and like these they have a fantastiche camouflage
This bird ever been to Europe as a Volire Bird. Over the years some of these birds have escaped or released.
Nowadays there are a large number of those birds in Holland and they resist our cold winters.
