scenes from a memory * dreamland

By Milla
Today gonna go sentimental again.
Another archive shot from the magical park in Torun, after some face-lifting Smile That's where I took one of the very first photos with my first own camera, and this is also one of the first shots. For some reason love this image as I love the place, that makes me unable to say if it's any good though. Know every branch on it, no wonder I just don't know any longer Smile

Many thanks for all your great recent support!

Liek the mono version best, and the composition is like seeing it through an eye

Agree with sussex to me the colour version is a bit fussy but the B&W just looks right especialy with the virginette draws the eye to the centre. Excellent mono

i really like this and the BnW version works best in my opinion, this is due to the dreamlike almost nightmare quality it holds for me.
I would be interest in giving it another go if the chance is there as with a tripod and a full moon with some long exsposure noise reduction you could give this the edge.

I want to walk up that path even though it feels like that horror movie moment of "why are they going up the path!"

Thank you!
Yes Darren, I'd love to come back there one day, I can see this place has a great potential, which I've tried to enhance recovering as much as I could from this old shot (god, you just made me to realise it was taken 9 years ago lol). I'm so glad you liked it, I'm trying to observe and learn from my best mood masters Wink

V2 is purely awesome.

I know what you mean about the park. I have a park nearby and everything about it is beautiful to me. Which removes any objectivity to whether anything I've taken is beautiful to anyone else or not Smile

Cheers Ollie, your support is very motivating, and wow Jon, thank you so much for your award, it feels so incredible nice, and is greatly appreciated!
I wish I could explain you what I've done here, but the truth is I don't really know actually, lol.
You see, I've never learned about the photography, nor I've read an users guide to ps. All I know about processing I've found out myself by trying how different tools work, and since I've never learned English either, it's getting even more fun Wink
I've been working on this shot through couple of weeks, adding something every time I felt I learned something useful. Worked on colour version all the time, had to tone the overexposed sky down, increased saturation and changed hue to desired level. Everything else was, let me put it this way, a handicraft. Been using several different tools, blurring, sharpening, burning, dodging, colouring and what-else til I got the final effect. Then converted to b&w and added some more grain.
Yes, I've finished it BEFORE I've discovered what are the layers for Grin
Hope you can find some sense in this, many thanks once again!

Thanks Milla, I have done similar pictures before and have had no idea how to recreate it.
No problem about the award, it deserves it, any way it goes to the user award gallery and will get more viewers.
