Schonbrunn

By davidhu
Another one from our recent trip to Vienna, this is a view of the Schonbrunn Palace. The former summer residence of the Hapsbergs, it was was built between 1695 and 1713. It was substantially redesigned in the early 1800's when it acquired the present facade and its distinctive yellow colour.

Thanks for looking and please view large if you have the time.

I too like the composition - must observe that its lopsidedness is due to Habsburg topiary not your photography!

Superbly detailed Dave - wonderful architecture. Great depth to the image and I think this is one of those occasions where a clear sky was ideal.

The first glimpse of the palace, looks like our Malacanang Palace, the seat of the president. The inclusion of the fountain and park are delightful. Excellent image. Well done.
