Sea Level Rise #63

By handlerstudio
Kemah Texas, a resort town right next to the Gulf of Mexico, east of Houston, where we were staying. These photos are all on the boardwalk there....and the versions show our ubiquitous crime scene tape at three feet above high tide...where the water will be. Climate scientists say, at this point, anything from three feet of sea level rise this century to twelve feet---or more. To my, and many others' observations, this is moving much faster than predictions can keep up with, and they are alway surprised at the pace of climate change. And we all have been seeing it. In different ways in different parts of the country and world. And, the Gulf, as we now know, has birthed some ferocious storms.\

There is a town with the same name in Turkey, Peter. Very interesting info and shots.

Interesting and thought provoking, Peter.

Not as grim as it was (unless 45 tonight declares a state of emergency). Largely due to Citizens' Climate Lobby late last year, both in the House and Senate, we had bipartisan introduction of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act. They will be reintroduced in both houses in this Congress.
