Sea of Green

By TrevBatWCC
On arrival in Weymouth and going up to my hotel room, I looked out across the bay to see strange bright green waves on the sea this was before I'd even had a beer! Grin Looking to the right, I could then see the tall post illuminated with strip lights, and a laser beam emitting from a box on the top. It turned out that there were several of these all the way along the promenade, spaced about 100 metres apart.
On the last night, I felt I had to try to photograph it. The viewpoint wasn't as good at ground level as from my room window, four floors up, so putting the camera on my mini tripod, positioned it as close to the window as I could and shot through the glass, as the window wouldn't open very far. A pity the sea wasn't rough with larger waves instead of so calm, it would have looked even more effective. Every so often the beam was split to increase the effect (see the version).

Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging Smile

A well captured night-time scene Trev.
More or less from where you took that picture is the Russell Hotel, where we had many memorable holidays as the kids were growing up. Happy memories.

The version for me Trev. I like the split beam on the sea. Why we have to have lasers over the sea I've no idea though.
