Sea rescue

By Sue_R
We were awoken by the sound of a helicopter that was obviously very close to us.

We quickly got up to see what was going on and discovered the Coastguard and Maryport Inshore Rescue were carrying out an exercise right next to the marina. Really wish I had a longer lens to capture more of the action on the water.

I don't usually go for big uploads, but thought I'd make this an exception Smile

Many thanks for your votes and comments on my last upload.

Helicopters are such a pain to photograph on dull days ..... you need a surprisingly slow speed to give the blades movement (and the bigger they are the slower you need to go) -- but I am amazed that the tail rotor was sharp at this speed.

Well captured sequence of images, Sue, this sort of situation certainly merits presenting a large set, when one image doesn't have the same impact Smile
