Sea View

By geegee
My previous archive post on my climb up to the Pap of Glencoe appears to have aroused a little interest. Mavis pointed out to me, in the nicest possible way, that I was getting a bit long in the tooth when I shot that one.

Yes, that was my last solo climb of a mountain, I had reached the ripe old age of 78 so I have to say that I do treasure images shot on that day.

Here then is another image from that climb. Taken from the summit cairn and looking out towards the sea. The village of Ballachulish on the shore of Loch Leven can be seen as well as the Ballachulish Bridge just seen at the top of the highest stone on the summit cairn.

Another great one from the archive George, I hope you didn't carry all these stones up with you. You're a hard act to follow my fine friend.

All the very best and take good care, keep them coming,

I really do admire you..I love mountain climbing but have great difficulty with very steep, long climbs. I know this well and this is a fabulous capture of a very beautiful place.

Thanks Di. This was my third attempt at the Pap, previously I had been snowed off and blown off. It was very windy this day and several folks had turned back saying the wind was to strong to hit the top. I was determined and, as it happens, it would have been my last chance.
