One minute past 11 o'clock on the 11th November 1918 - "Tommy", a sculpture by Ray Lonsdale above Seaham Harbour in Co Durham. A war weary Tommy sits reflecting on the horrors of war at one minute past the declaration of peace. There are several views here of details and the entire sculpture. It is made of Corten steel which develops this rich rusty finish and is used for most of Ray Lonsdale's sculptures. There's another nearby - I may share fewer images tomorrow.
