Here is another from my holiday. I bet you are wondering about the title of it. Let's see if anyone can guess, I will give you the answer tomorrow.
This was yet another early morning, I know you are meant to lie in and be lazy whilst on holiday, but I couldn't miss these wonderful coloured skies, so early starts were the only answer. I took all these sunrise shots without the aid of a cup of tea first, scary stuff, mind you, it wasn't long after getting back to the bungalow that I put the kettle on. It wasn't as cold on the morning I took this as on the previous upload, just that it got very sandy. I had taken a couple of shots of the other side of the pier and had moved to this side, which yielded a much better shot to be honest, anyway, I had just finished and put the camera back in my bag, not a moment to soon, I tell you, a huge tractor came flying, well not actually flying in the air flying, but, flying as in Jenson Button type flying, under the pier, towing an also huge rake behind it to flatten the sand out. The driver, a young, spotty teenager, decided it would be great fun to turn as fast as he could after exiting the pier, this in turn sprayed everyone and their dogs with sand, bits of crab and whatever else was lieing about on the beach. Bloomin' brilliant, I thought, as I was spitting half of Paigntons beach from my mouth, some of the other people were none to impressed with him neither. I decided to wait for him, along with a few of the other sand blasted persons, to come back, I was going to give him a piece of my mind, not an important piece, but a piece none the less. Well, he drove down the beach and began to turn round, then he shot up the ramp, off the beach and disappeared down the road, great, now I was really miffed, I reckon he had spotted the angry mob waiting for him by the pier, however, being a reasonable sort of fella, not to let things get to him, I counted to ten, got in the car and screamed off up the road after him, hang on, no I didn't, I got in the car and went back to the bungalow for a nice cuppa.

Sory I've missed everbodies pictures have not been on site for a long time. Due to working long hours at work and home.And problems with new camera (40D) can't open raw images yet't Jpeg only. Nice one looks great

Lovely image, Andy, this strikes me as a rather different seascape from the norm but I can't put my finger on precisely why. Perhaps it's because the sea is actually calm, well, no more than vaguely choppy.

Love your tale of the spotty youth. I expect he was more used to handling a spray-can.

Hmmm, read the story, had a good laugh, but my mind is still on the title - that's the way my mind works, mention food... I'm guessing you've found a fish & chip shop for us???
Anyway if you must get up at daft times of day on holiday, expect daft things to happen to you.
Gorgeous light and tones to reward your pains, plus the two things that stand out for me - the hard yellow/black shadows under the pier and the line of hungry gulls. I reckon they know where the title is.

Restaurant on a pier? Whatever it is it is a totally gorgeous composition, and the golden glow makes it even more beautiful.

Never seen our Pier look so beautiful, maybe because I've never seen it so early. You could have popped in for a cuppa you were so close.
Amazing lighting and colour captured and would the title refer to the seafood store on the pier?
