Sealed Knot

By davidhu
A gathering of the Sealed Knot, the Civil War re-enactors, in Northampton last weekend. They marched to and from All Saints Church. We were lucky to catch them on the return leg marching up the long tree-lined approach to Delapre Abbey. Over one hundred strong with drummers leading the way, this was a spectacular and colourful sight. Hope the shots do them justice.

Thanks for looking and large is best if you have the time.

Brilliant Dave. You can almost hear the clatter and the drums. The chaps with the pikes look as if they'd make a splendid stand alone picture.

They are certainly a dedicated team of people, good luck to them all.
Lots of colour and some good images David, I like the drums, centre image and bottom right with the lances best.

Great presentation, one question you said they were returning, was the bag pipes scaring them,

I too like the centre piece too - the General with his bodyguard I presume - closely followed by the pikemen; I think all would stand up well individually.

We went to see them a few years back at the re-construction of the battle of Edgehill. A fine sight indeed. Love the colour in these and I particularly like th shot at the bottom right.
