Although I found your last poem quite sad, I loved the idea of Heathen festivities, which my partner and I used to organise and invite like-minded friends. Those were the happy days. Sadly, we haven't found such a group in Winchester and so we simply don't do the Christian version of Yule at all, and have happily got away with it for 20+ years. So the current restrictions have meant absolutely nothing to us. Heads down, pop them up when the new year arrives.
