Setting a fine example!

By Ericsamson
A quick rummage in the archives turned up this vintage shot taken on a Panasonic Lumix G2 at the Bournemouth Air Festival - quite a few years ago!

Those of you who are familiar with similar images will instantly recognise Gwendoline Fondant. On this occasion she is accompanied by (and socially distanced from) her old chum Bunty Bonchance practising wingtop calisthenics as part of their one period of permitted daily exercise. The pilots for this outing are Hermione Hotspur and Felicity Joystick - Cyril's younger sister!

Many thanks for the very gratifying responses to 'Waiting' which, as always, are very much appreciated. Those who were so kind as to award that image have now been contacted ... about half an hour ago and therefore shamefully late! 🥴 My apologies but I have been obliged to spend time in the garden with my thinning pate pointed to the sun in order to benefit from as much freely available Vitamin D as possible.
☀️ 😎 😉 It was Matron wot made me do it - 'onest!

Take care and all the very best, Graham. 🙂

Great action shot. You would almost think the bottom plane is a duplicate of the other one as they are so synchronized. Very fine colours and framing, Graham.

What a proper pair of show-offs, and here is the very convincing evidence. They posed ever so nicely for you, and you did their efforts justice with this fine shot. Smile

young as they are, there's a new generation breathing down their necks

Great Images Graham, not for me though I get vertigo stepping of the kerb. As always your witty narrative ad's an extra dimension to your images.

This is very clever, Graham.
They were below you, so you must have been above them.
They were both on aeroplanes.
Were they therefore flying below ground level, or were you on another aeroplane? A giant trampoline? Were you perhaps levitating?
Has Mrs T of NW been informed?
Does it matter?
So many questions.

P.S.: How long can we keep this up?
Come to think of it, how long could Bunty and Gwendoline keep it up?

I note with great interest that the Misses Bunty and Gwendoline have adapted the propulsion generating position in preparedness for the instruction from Chief Pilot, the Honourable Miss Felicity, "Warp speed, girls!" at which point the effect of four cans of Heinz Baked Beans each (other brands are available, but are considered by this expert as not being as effective) will kick in and the extra thrust generated pushes the flying machines to unimaginable speeds, thus ensuring that any pesky paparazzi are left well and truly behind and choking on the noxious fumes that are a necessary and unavoidable bi-product of the baked bean generated warp speed process.

And yes, I mistakenly took two blue and three yellow tablets prior to retiring yesterday eve, instead of three blue and two yellow. My apologies.

Oh no! ... they're off the leash again! ...

There was a lovely young bright thing
Who wanted to walk on a Breitling
Then regretted getting busy
And started to feel dizzy ...
No longer strapped to the right wing

Delighted to make it 30, Old Chap!

An embarrassing moment for the old gusset to fail: bound to lead to trouble.

Thank you all for you kind attentions. You've made an old man feel happy ... and a happy man feel a little less old!
John, I truss that all is well with your gusset; one can't be too careful. 🥴
Bill and Peter, I managed to get above the action by availing myself of a spare seat in a Lear Jet (for a modest consideration ie a couple of Werther's Originals copiously coated with pocket fluff and a well creased Tenna .... sorry .... tenner.) I can sense that you won't fall for that one however and must confess that Peter is very close to the truth. Certainly not a hot air balloon (never trust anything that doesn't at least have wings) but we were on the East Cliff between Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers. (Canford Cliffs - always glorious but off the main display line for the airshow!)
Colin - what a delightful piece of pottery - you certainly smashed that one! You really are an artist! Gwendoline and Bunty will be in touch with you later, so something to look forward to in these challenging times.
Mr Salty Blue Mac - I'll forward the details of my therapist. 🤪

Many thanks and take care, Mrs T of N W 😀
