One of the last shots I took on Saturday's meet and one of my faves too. Not necessarily the most dramatic [compared to the awesome waves crashing at Happisburgh], but summed up a great evening and day. This time we were in the pleasurable company of Ian Flindt and Clive Burrow.
History: Herringfleet Mill was built in circa 1825 by millwright Robert Barnes. The construction of the mill is a tapered octagonal design made of wood. The mill is also turned into the wind by means of a tailpole that is a rare occurrence on surviving mills today. This mill is the last of its kind on the Norfolk Broads today and was last worked by Mr Charles Howlett of Haddiscoe in 1958.
After the mill ceased its work it was replaced by a small diesel pump built in a tin hut next door to the mill itself.
Ownership of the mill was left to the Somerleyton Estate, who maintained it as much as their finances could afford, but ownership was taken over in the late 1950's by Suffolk County Council.
Heringfleet mill is just a few miles from where I live but I have never photographed it. I've been there several times but never when the light is good. I suppose that I am not a serious landscape photographer. Great shot. Andy

It was a pity you couldn't make it Pavol, maybe you will be able to next time.
I think there might be another one [or two] that fit that description too Chris ;)
Memorable indeed Ian and when this is output and framed I will have a constant reminder of it too :)
Cheers all,
Paul
