Fine composition with good light and detail in the f/g and balanced with that very threatening sky: the weather there can change form minute to minute and quite different images could be obtained by remaining stationary and taking a series of shots (possibly with an umbrella at times).

Excellent composition, depth of field and overall exposure. Just shows you don't always have to follow the rule of thirds!

It's a powerfull image that holds together well through its vertical compustion due to the beautifully captured foreground rocks, implied movement in the stream and waterfall and the distant mountain.

Not a big problem, but I find the lighter trees (?) middle distance form a slight distraction in transferring attention from foreground to background. I'd have liked to see these darkened slightly (similar to the ground just above the waterfall?).

I may be wrong, but I doubt this is an HDR image, orhas a graduated filter used during exposure. Well done and congratulations on some very careful and effective post exposure work.

Loving this Jeanie. That foreboding cloud just suits the image perfectly. I can see a beautifully brooding mono in this too. Congrats on the EC.

Hi Dave, thanks for your imput.. not sure what you mean re trees. There are no trees there. The middle light was a bonus for me given that it was soooo broody then the sun came out and lit that area up. You are of course correct in that this is not HDR, I used ND filters to control the exposures.

Cheers

The drainpipe stands out well in this light Jeanie, the misty isle is in it's element in this kind of weather. A good flow in the river and moody as hell sky is great in the long exposure.
