SHADES

By Hanners
A few weeks ago it seemed the whole EPZ decended onto Scalaber Force, probably down to the fact that Les F got an EC of his amazing shot from here.... Anyway, a few of us were there and my main objective was to get a couple of half decent monos of this exciting waterfall, as it turns out, it has to be one of the hardest places I've ever been to convert a colour into mono, as the light can be either too harsh or too flat, I got one after a lot of fiddling around and now this is the other....Smile

This is very beautiful I like the effect of light and shade on the water, but I feel I am missing out what is higher up??? should this be a portrait with more of the water fall in the picture, I still love it the way it is!

Your "fiddling around" has worked a treat on this fine image Tony. It works very well in mono and has a good range of tones too. The tint you have applied adds to the effect. Excellent stuff !

Very nice shot Tony - I can't help wonder what it would be like as a portrait, sort of cropped down the middle and using the right hand side, but hey, what do I know! Smile
