Shades of Mr. Acker Bilk

By GeorgeP
There are lots of debates about taking photographs of people in public places without their permission. I do not take photographs people in public places if those images are individually identifiable. It might be legal in US but I am not sure that it is always correct. One reason for my reluctance is respect for irate parents and grandparents who might consider such actions inappropriate and become belligerent. (Legal rights are not a good defense and nobody wants to be considered a creepy old guy with the camera!) The other reason is that I donít have much use for such photographs. I am hardly going to place images of strangers on my walls, and the thought of posting identifiable images on social media is another can of worms that is not worth investigating. So, this is as close as I get to photographing strangers. The beach on Galveston West Island was empty Ė and Acker Bilkís tune immediately came to mind.

I love the very subtle colour palette and applaud your discretion with 'people' shots. Talking of songs, your mention of Galveston conjures up Glen Campbell's song for me!
