shadows

By pluckyfilly
Spotted this shadow in the bright sunlight of yesterday and thought it would make a good picture - many thanks for your interest in my stupid man shot, it was a lucky day for both the man and for me, he didnt drown and I got some half decent picsTongue
V2 I have increased canvas and cloned in water to give the pic more height, was it successful - I am sure somebody will tell meWink

String shadows always make for interesting shots as in V 1, Ann, and I think you have cloned in the water very successfully........I would never have known had you not shown the evidence.

Like the lead lines on this Ann, but the harsh light has taken over the sky. The shadows are good. It needs more dof and would have worked more at F16 to detail it throughout. Do you own a polariser failing that hold a pair of sunglasses in front of the lens to see the difference and balance the contrast and shadows/highlights

Lovely image, Ann - it looks very like here, with a boardwalk over a lake and woods behind. And your falling man is a classic!!

Lovely capture in V1, Ann, nice long lead-in of the bridge, and the shadow really adds to the shot, too. Think the extra bit on top in V2 works well Wink

Like the lead lines for the shadows, good feedback from Richard on the DOF etc.
Re the adding of more to the top of your canvas, works well but if you look carefully you can see a line need to get the clone tool working again along with say set at 50% to just take the edge of the line.
Hope this helps.

V2 for me Ann - crazy guy. As Richard has pointed out wrong aperture to get any dof in V1.

well folks that was that - I am petrified of walking that damn bridge and thats gods own honest truth, there are concrete slats as a walk way and my walking stick has got stuck in the slats between each before now. I am not steady on my feet and am wary of falling and losing all my gear never mind my dignity, the last thing on my mind was changing my aperture, I will never make the photographer some of you are, sorrySad you can see from the picture the treads are about 6 inches wide and the slats just large enuff to take my stick and if I dont keep my eye on where I am walking thats my lot but it also makes me feel quite dizzy and sick looking down as I walkSad

Great action shot in V2 and well treated, but both very nice images..Jo
Lovely shadows leading to the vanishing point Ann, we all have our fobias and worries, a stick which should assist can at times become a liability. You did well with the bridge. I do like what you've managed with your diving man.

The hand rail is the lead line Ann, lead lines lead the eye into the image to the focal point Wink If you cant see it then it hasn't worked has it. Grin
Read up on hyperfocal distance as well. If you focus 1/3rd in and then reposition you should get all the image within dof.
