Hi all,

I submitted this photo in one of our club competition with the theme Shadows. I got 17 points out of 20 points. After the judging we will have critique discussion on the submitted photos.

One of the comments was that the points of the forks are not straight. Also the leading lines could have been placed better if they started from the corners. I agreed on the points.

What is your critique please?

I thihnk you need to have 3 perfect forks, all straight, as if new. I dont think I would have noticed this if I had been taking the shot, so its a lesson learned.

Not sure I understand the second point about starting from the corners?

Either way its well done

I think I understand the leading lines thing - see my mod. I also rotated a bit so that the wall looks more vertical...

With the forks, I see the point of perfect, straight ones - or of having them all slightly different, making a virtue of the differences.

My mod loses some of the lighting effects on the wall - in shooting, it would be easy to frame to keep these AND have the leading line going into the corner.

It's the front fork that looks wrong and an odd one out. Three perfect forks needed, then straighten up the shadows to vertical and come in much tighter. Despite the light, you need much less above.
