Shaving

By helenlinda
I'm so excited as Father Christmas has come up trumps and I have a new camera!!
Yesterday the batteries it arrived with failed within about 30 mins, but I managed to upload the African Violets before they gave out.
After work today there was very little natural light left, but with my new batteries I managed a few shots in time to upload something this evening.
This is going to be a steep learning curve, but I'm hopefully going to enjoy doing a lot more than I could with my Traveler.
I've started with exploring macro. I converted this to mono.
Comments and advice welcome.
Thanks for looking
Helen

This is a good subject for macro and has a lovely curly shape but I do feel that something here needs to be a bit sharper to hold the interest. With macro the depth of field is often very narrow and camera movement is a problem so you probably need a lot more light or a tripod.

Thanks Eric. I used a tripod, and I know the lighting was poor. Its going to be trial and error for a while but thanks for your comments

Hi Helen, this is an interesting subject for macro. I love the way it looks as if it is floating, agree with Eric's comments. Keep up the good work, should be fun. Smile

You achieved wonders with the old camera, Helen, I'm sure we can expect great things from this one.
As usual your imagination has supplied you with a really interesting subject. The mono is very good. I know the focus is a little soft, but I think that the softness enhances the abstract nature of the image. Works well for me!

Very elegant shape, beautifully placed in the frame. Did you ever see my shaving? I think it is on page 16 of my PF.
