Shell Point

By geoffrey baker
Probably the last from the meet, I've got lots of others but they look much like shots that others have uploaded and as the light wasn't that good I see no point using them.

I ticked the "digitally manipulated" box because I changed the sky.
I placed the shell there, about a foot in front of the camera and used the smallest aperture for maximum DOF so that part is real, oh, and I made a copy layer, turned the top one to B&W and rubbed a hole in it where the shell is with the eraser tool.

The light was dead flat so there's not much shadow around the shell, I tried to add a bit though.

I'm too honest for this game Wink

It's not brilliant I know but I just felt like trying something different.

B&W is a bit flat for my liking, Geoff.

Nice shot, i prefer the 2nd version but don't think it needs that shell. Personally i think the naturally lead in lines of the rocks are enough for the foreground.

Yes, version 1 was a bit flat so I've uploaded a second version which is better, I should've done it right in the first place, just not thinking straight today Sad

Thanks Cole for alerting me to it.

Good one Geoff, I really like this.
I'm impressed that you seem to have had the idea in mind when you placed the shell there and took the shot ....that's good thinking and planning Smile
