Shift

By Z_Driver
I was trying to capture the tachometer in action with a long shutter at night. Unfortunately the needle was moving too fast to give the the proper blur when combined with a rear curtain flash to freeze the needle as seen.

hehe, I knew some of you would get a kick out of the thought of somebody trying to take a night picture at 130MPH.

The engine was never even on during the whole shoot. I was using the gague sweep test for the motion.

The camera was supported by a tripod sitting in the driver's seat. A four second exposure was used to capture the motion, but the needle was going far too fast for a proper blur.

I'm probably going to go back and shoot again for improvement.
