The scant remains of the Grimsby trawler 'Epine', it was wrecked on this Icelandic beach on the 13th March 1948, of the 19 crew on board only 5 lives were saved by local Icelandic rescue teams.
Very little now remains but the Icelandic people have given the site tremendous respect for those that perished on that fateful night, you are not allowed to remove any of the remnants of the wreck and a plaque gives the story of that awful night.
