Taken whilst out walking one afternoon (combined bramble-picking, dog walking and photography exercise) on a strech of the Southern Upland Way between Portpatrick and Killantringan (there are a couple of nice, sandy bays on the way to the lighthouse).
On the way around we'd passed past a couple of fellow walkers, on the return trip we passed them again, this time enjoying a rest on the warm sands.
The smashed canoe (the other half was further away on some black, jaggy rocks-hope the user survived!) was already in my pre-planned list of 'interesting things to capture on the way back'.
I took advantge of the favoured 'Background Figure in Red' compositional technique to add some human interest.
Not normally my type of shot, but I think it works.
The brambles were lovely. Thanks Nic, you can make crumble again, anytime!!
