Certainly a different shot of the place Tony and it works very well. I guess we'd all like to avoid blown highlights but at times its just not possible and although they do draw your eye here it doesn't detract too much from the image for me. Nice one.

Sometimes its too easy to focus (lol) on small details that are not quite right like the highlights. Whats more important is the impact of the whole image.
This one is superb.
Well done producing something a little out of the norm.

first time i ever liked a shot with blown out highlights, it is quite lovely though im not sure it would look as good on a print.

Yes that's a fair comment Phil, I think the highlights would be too in your face in a large print

Yes Dianna, it was a double edged sword really, as it was a quick grab shot for the lovely light that suddenly came and if I lost the highlights I would also lose that light. I shall be returning there again in a few weeks, all being well, and I may try this shot again.

Thanks all for your wonderful comments, I really thought that this would bomb Smile

This is soooooooo beautiful it takes your breath away !! I can almost see the fairies having their shower !!!!! Seriously though this image has it all as far as composition and lighting goes - yes there are blown out areas but the sunlight dancing through the misty water takes your eye away from the imperfections in the shot. The foreground is spot on for detail with that vivid green moss. Altogether one for my favourites.

Excellently done

Jane Smile
