I was lucky enough to be one of the official photographers at "Gardening Scotland" yesterday.
It was set up and judging day without the public .......... so there was no crowd to battle with.

In the morning the lighting in the main hall was horrible.
However, by late afternoon the sun was out and it had improved a bit (still bad though) although
it was still a challenge and I only had a single flashgun.

This was taken without flash.

I loved the way the light was catching the rim and tip of the flower.
The person who had set up the display had been good enough to use black velvet as a backdrop
and the hardest bit was getting a position without any other plants or leaves encroaching while
still keeping the lighting and angles looking good.

The lighting was a mixture of natural (small skylight a loooong way up), sodium and tungston
