Fruit Bats taken through glass, handheld, at the Cotswold Wildlife Park, where I attended a workshop on the use of fill-in flash and flash photography yesterday. The little fellow on the right was very unhappy about sharing his food!
The method taught for taking this type of image, was to press the lens hard onto the glass, "seal" any gap between the top part of the lens with your fingers (taking care not to interrupt the path of the beam), half press the shutter button until the red light and grid appeared in the viewfinder and shoot, letting the flash do the focusing automatically. Tricky and hit and miss as it was almost impossible to see the subjects in the dark in the first place! Helped by our instructor shining a small light into the enclosure.
Many thanks for your C&Cs on my last upload, with a special thank you
to Christine (Christinecilia) and Ron (Maiwand) for their User Awards
. All very much appreciated and valued
