Wow! ISO 1250? Looks quite clean to me. The colour cast is different.

Critique? I may have placed him with his tail near right frame. You have him quite forward, but he is NOT dead that's good too.

I hear its a good idea to have shutter speed and ISO closely related. Like ISO 800 and speed 620...or ISO400 and speed 400. Is that true? TG

Its a good shot Craig. There is quite a bit of visible noise, and the image has a reddish colour caste, but the bird is sharp and the pose is good, with a nice catchlight in the eye.

The composition has the bird too far to the left, better if its looking into some space.

Ive uploaded a mod with noise reduced, colour balanced, and cropped to move the bird further from the left, and lower in the frame. The down side is hes a bit too central, but adding more epace on the left when the original is so close to the left is a bit of a time challenge.

I have never heard of tony's speed/ISO relationship idea, and it doesnt make sense, but lowering your ISO was quite possible as you didnt need quite so high a shutter speed, - unless you were prepared for an action shot with the bird in flight.

Its actually more likely to be the exact opposite Tony, - if it even existed!
