I love the jolliness photo of my Mum (on the left)and Auntie having a glass of wine and a gossip before guests arrived at a party. It's not especially arty or anything, just a nice picture so I thought I would post it.

You've captured a lovely happy shot there and sometimes thats all thats required. You dont say what camera you are using so I cant really comment too much on technical issues but the background is slightly distracting and if you were to increase your aperture size if would give you a shallower depth of field and should throw the background out of focus in order to minimise the distraction. You could also do this digitally with a suitable photo editing package. K.

Thanks K, I must admit I didn't really think too much about the background but again, this was just as is and I haven't altered it at all. Perhaps I'll have a play on photoshop for this one too ! I used a Canon IXUS digital camera with no special settings.
