Sisters Rocks

By Charles_R
This is an out crop of Granite Rocks just to the south of Stawell, as can be seen by the graffiti on the rock faces its been a spot were people have been dropping into just to leave their calling card fo well over a hundred years now, I'm not sure when the first calling card was left as I wasn't around then somewhere in the 1890s 1880s I think. I can remember when in my youth it was emblazoned in extra large print as the BOOTS DAY MEMORIAL, at that time there was a policeman that was nicknamed Boots, I believe he got this name because he was reputed to planting foot in the backside of youths who were not being of the best behavior and were sent on their way with the following remark Get Home Before Do and Tell Your Old Man.

Looks like a beautiful place. The rock has become a real work of art and although it could be viewed as vandalism in some ways it has as much legitimacy as indigenous art.
