Sky Windows

By JJGEE
Late afternoon sun on a gorgeous February day, before the snow arrived !

This is part of the ruins of Nymans House which was destroyed by fire in 1947.

The house was partially rebuilt and became the home of Anne Messel and her husband the 6th Earl of Rosse.

On his death it was willed to the National Trust and it together with the Garden & Woods are open to the public.

What is it about houses in West Sussex ?
Cowdray House suffered the same fate of being ravaged by fire in 1793.

But they do make excellent subjects for photography, more so the ruins at Cowdray than at Nymans.
