A surprise shot from very close, in Masai Mara. Not very good light though, it was harsh afternoon..

I am a South African and yes our sun is harsh especially higher up in Africa ...I personally think you handled the light very well...such a typical cheetah look when they are resting...well done

You have handled the light very well. This is a lovely portrait, pin sharp and a an excellent pose.

The African light is difficult but you have coped well with it in this shot

Decent image. The problem is not the harsh light it is where it is falling. The Leopard has got into shade to keep cool so the light is lower on the subject than the background. Thus a slightly flat effect. You could try increasing contrast a little, then run the burning in tool over the brighter background.

This is a lovely shot, but it is a bit flat. I have uploaded a mod so I hope you like it. I concentrated on lifting the contrast and the colours without making them look unreal. Your camera has tried to even out the exposure, so the cat is a little underexposed. When I lifted that the background went a bit paler, but didn't blow out.

I would have thought that +2/3 would have done the trick here, but it hasnt. Even the bright areas behind the Cheetah dont look very bright, which they should at +2/3.

I tried a +1, still not bright enough, so it seems to me that you needed a +1.33, suggesting that background light was extremely bright indeed.

BTW, - is the time correct on the camera, - at 7:19 PM?

Lovely relaxed image, Jitendra, and the important areas have been covered.

I would just like to suggest that the image might benefit from having the bits of grass top left (over the ear) and bottom right (over the body) cloned out.

Pamela.
