Sleeping Dog

By jeanie
Took this last night down at Lytham. It was very calm and the tide was on its way in, though high tide was not till 1705 hrs. As we stood and waited, taking in the peace and quiet, Jura decided to model and lie on the jetty. He did lie still but he was alert - watching all the birds on the shoreline to my left..

I did make him move and took another picture without him there which I will add as V2.. Was interesting sorting these last night. The marker at the end of the jetty was bang in the centre of the image, the horizon is level, but the jetty is wonky.. no surprise its warped though as it is covered in seawater twice a day.

Now deciding where to go today with the camera, everywhere I want to go will have rather slippery roads so what to do!!

Smile

Nice take on an often 'overdone' theme. The dog just adds a little more 'interest' and personalises the shot.

Beautifully captured, Jeanie, and of course Jura makes the picture! Pouring with rain and thunderstorms here today, so don't think I'll be setting foot outside the door for any photography! Carol

Thanks Barbara, John, Barbara, Carl, Carol and Mandy.

Carol - clear and crisp here.. blooming cold.. the road outside is shining with ice.. and if its like that here on the coast, I suspect it will be daft to take the camera to the Lakes or Ingleton etc etc today! May have to shoot locally again.. following a bus route thats been gritted Grin

We'd been out walking for 2 hours during the day, Graham, so he was quite chilled out.. Two ducks were quacking away near to my left and he was watching them... I was surprised he stayed there long enough to get this exposure though Smile

LOL!! The trick was to wear him out in the afternoon first, Cole. Of course if I had planned this shot and put him there, he would never have behaved.. this was pure fluke. Last time I took him down that jetty he was the naughty boy! See here.. the sod jumped off the jetty and ended up in the muck!!
