View of the Cuillins from the river not far from the Sligachan hotel.Taken in between the snow showers.
Excellent shot,lovely tones.
You have really made something out of nothing with the light here.
Lovely shot, very atmospheric. I particularly like the clouds brushing the Cullins.
One of the images of the week for me so far.
Great shot, this is well composed, great tones and love the misty affect on the water! Spot ON! Click!!!
Excellent work, very well composed and taken.
Wow! fantastic shot. what was the exposure? Well worth bearing the elements for, but yellow?
Beautiful image. I particularly like the low viewpoint with the rocks in the foreground, and the blurred water.
My thanks to everyone who has viewed and commented against this photo.
*edit* Paul, exposure was something like 2 1/2 secs F22 0.9 grad filter.
Stunning shot, know the place well and it's very hard not to make the place look desolate but you've worked wonders. Fantastic.
What a stunner - not keen on the yellow part of the frame 'tho.
Excellent foregound and a great sense of drama with the impending snow on the hills.
Great shot Stewart.
excellent shot. great landscape
Beautiful image, well done, excellent work.
This is so good I'm going to pretend I never saw the horrible yellow frame
Well taken wonderful shot
Fabulous shot and well deserved EC,congratulations, well done
A beautiful shot. Like the contrast between the softness of the water the sharp rock.
Excellent image. The detail and tones in the rocks are superb. The moving water looks brilliant and it is all topped by snow capped hills disappearing into moody clouds. I like the composition also with the foreground focal point off to the left and the background one to the right. Top work.
Absolutely gorgeous. Click
Terrific image, fully deserves the E.C.
Great wilderness image, superb exposure and comp.
holy crap... thats cool
Works for me a great landscape.
A brilliant shot. Nice movement in the water.
Sums up the Cullins perfectly - it's been like this every time I've climbed them. Lovely shot - great blend of subject, texture and light.
Blimey, an EC.. thanks Pete! That soothes the shock of being back to work
My thanks to everyone who has commented & viewed this picture.

This is just superb! Congrats on a well deserved EC ....click
A stunning image, well done on the EC.
It's all been said, this is just stunning.
The landscape is very beautiful but personally i think it lacks colours. Deserves the EC anyway
Awesome, in the true sense of the word.
Lovely image, but not sure about that yellow border though!
Brilliant landscape. Your shutter speed is just right for the waterfall.
I don't like that yellow border either. It's too bright and overpowering next to the subtle tones of this wonderful image!
Stunning image. Well done and congrats on EC. Well deserved.
Thank you to everyone who has commented on this photo.
Rethink required on the choice of border for next time tho'
Just outstanding. Big congrats on the EC
Hello Stewart, congrats on the EC...such a fine shot with great effects on the water and the Skye mountain backdrop is so atmospheric. Nice work.
who needs sunshine?
congrats on a fine photo.
The colour is spectacular. It's so fresh/cold. Click.
Great shot - nothing to add from what has been said already - except I'd lve to be there again!
There is lots I like about this image but the water effect is the least of it. It has no resemblance to real water in coulour and texture. Other than the falling water it looks a molten slaggy grey mess. For me this is a shame because the rest of the image is excellent.
Yum,Yum....I've just bought a 10D and am getting a 17-40L this week......If I get any results like this I'll be well pleased.....nice shot
A cracking shot - makes me want to be there. Great portfolio too.
Very Middle Earth...
I'm pleased you got photo of the week, otherwise I would have missed this superb image. Congratulations.
Cracking water movement shot. congrats on the photo of the week.
What a stunning shot. Wonderful balance with the ruggedness of the rocks & smoothness of the water. Excellent)
congrats on potw
Congrats on Photo of the Week!
Click to ya...Suzan
Beautiful shot. Recognition well deserved.
Just a stunning image.
I love the softness of the water and the jagged rocks...
An absolute beauty! - Well done and deserved photo of the week
This is a cracking image. No doubt only an 'L' lens can do this
They all said it before I'll just add another WOW!!! click.
This is spot on mate. It's JUST like one I took recently. (NOT!!!).
Really caught my eye, with the sharpness of the flowing water and the crisp dof. It almost works as two seperate images as well, the foreground of the water, and the background of the mountain.
Speechless, stunning image...
water like liquid metal.. how do you do that!?
My sincere thanks to EVERYBODY who has taken the time to comment and view this photograph.
I can't believe it's a photo of the week!Thanks Pete.
If you see someone today with a mile wide grin on his face, that'll be me!
Wow, what an image. Really like the smooth water and the composition of the picture. Well deserved of all the praise. Stunning!!
another one for the wall, well taken.
This is just wonderful. Many congratulations on getting a much deserved photo of the week. Big click from me.
Absolutely fantastic shot. I love this location and you have done it justice indeed.
Congratulations a fantastic shot perhaps one day I will take one as good as this. It will look lovely on canvass
Stunning work, posted while I was away on holiday. Congrats on the EC.
Thanks again to all ephotozine contributors who have viewed/commented on this photo.
These comments have been most appreciated.
The foreground rocks and water are very sharp and full of good definition. I dislike the clouds over the mountain, they unbalance the image in my opinion. Sorry to go against the grain :/
Absolutely amazing. What more can I say...apart from Stunning. Not often Im lost for words, but I shall try to describe what I feel when viewing this image. Its oozes tranquillity. Theres sharp textured edges balanced with the smooth flowing of water... not forgetting the effect given by the superb lighting which gives this image a sense of 3Dism. It feels as though Im actually there, as if I can smell and touch the surroundings. And boy, am I looking forward to the day when I can produce an image that instil such feelings.
wonderfull, love everything about this photo. well done.
Oh this is excellent! Love the water and that cloud. Very well done indeed.
wow, this is really great. The colors, the movement of the water, the sky; excellent!
This is a first class landscape. You have managed to combine aerial perspective with a beautifull soft light and perfect rendering of the water and sky. The other thing that makes it stand out is that it is almost monochromatic. This lends it an air of subtle mystery.
great light texture and tone click click
Classy shot at the well visited area(by me too) you have a better shot than I have managed at this magnetic place.
All the best and well done,
Skye never looked so dramatic...
