Marsco and The Cuillin Hills from Sligachan, Isle of Skye.

Thanks to those who commented and made suggestions on my previous upload.

This is a crop from a single image taken a little earlier on the same day.

Much better but the light on the tops is beautifully warm and the lightened FG is too light to match. It's still a very nice image I wish I could help you more, but the web sometimes changes how images look as they're compressed down to 72ppi.
A method I often use for images like this is to process the image twice. Once for the top and second for the fg water and river. Blend the two images and you should be able to get closer to what you saw ay the time, as the midges nibbled your ears.

Thanks Dougie - I will have a go.

On this occasion it was more a case of frostbite than midges!

A beautiful and very grand image. It has strength and a timeless quality about it and the landscape invites exploration as if having been discovered and seen for the first time. I think it is excellent!

After Dougie's expert advice, all I will add is that compositionally your shot is excellent, captured at a magical time of day for light and colours.
