Slumming It!

By KarenFB
We were walking beside the flood relief channel from Exeter to Exwick yesterday. When we got to the Mill On The Exe (a famous landmark and pub, near the weir) I glanced at the railings and saw this youngster sat on the floor! Usually the top of the rails are used by the seagulls to sit and rest, but there weren't any yesterday.

Not the usual pristine surroundings, with crystal clear waters. I suppose the youngsters have to start somewhere! Smile

I would have liked to have gone closer, but didn't want to frighten/disturb it - I tried to zoom in, but only had my compact with me. I've ticked the 'Mod' box, you are welcome to show me how you would present it! Smile

Thank you everyone! Smile

'craggwildlifephotography': Thank you very much for your mod. I did try to crop this close, but felt the noise was unacceptable. You seem to have overcome this problem brilliantly! Smile

What a great surprise to see him there. Well captured too. Looks like a few other birds have enjoyed the railing too.

Usually the top railing has a long row of Black Headed Gulls, but they weren't there yesterday! Smile
