Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly Portrait

By Paul_Iddon
The environmental image, of this late Small Tortoiseshell butterfly, most have gone by this time of year, gave me a few opportunities to get in nice and close. Last sighting was as it went over the fence into next doors garden near the leylandii. Hopefully she will find somewhere nice and warm to settle into as autumn loses it's grip and winter takes her toll...

WOW a fantastic macro shot ... the details are impeccable, does it have hairy eyes?

A brilliant capture - I really can't understand why it has had so little attention!!!!

Amazing photo Paul!

I have the same lens as you but I am still far behind you in ability to get results as great at this! It's so close, detailed and sharp; well done!
